New Zealand based Soul Paua are a New Zealand Music Award-nominated group writing and performing some of the best original Polynesian and Maori acoustic grooves. Soul Paua perform in New Zealand and internationally as an acoustic or full electric band.

‘Paua’ : (noun)

Abalone.

  • 'Haliotis spp'. - edible univalve molluscs of rocky shores that have flattened, ear-shaped shells with a row of small holes for breathing. They have a strong grip on rock but move about at night grazing on seaweed. 
  • An important traditional food source for New Zealand’s indigenous Maori people. Now considered an increasingly scarce delicacy throughout New Zealand and the world.
